A Year of Points – highs, lows and everything in between

a year of points highs, lows and everything in between

A year of points – points made, learnt and compromised!

The launch of my regular Newsletters in January – a good starting point to the year, providing a platform for me to share valuable information on a wide range of topics, some of which are listed below, the rest are all on my web page, click here to read more:

  • Recovering after Stroke
  • Supporting Employees who are returning to studies
  • Mental Health
  • Disability and Accessibility at work
  • Language and Labels

I made a point to learn as much as possible, attending a multitude of webinars, designed and delivered bespoke training to organisations and completed two courses myself:

  1. Disability Awareness Training
  2. Certificate Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Management and Theory

Being shortlisted for three Awards during the year was fantastic – I did not win but had a great night at each event celebrating my own victory at being shortlisted as a Finalist:

  1. Galway Chamber – Diversity, Accessibility and Inclusion
  2. Network Galway – Solo Business Woman
  3. Diversity in Tech Awards – Disability Inclusion

Some of the more challenging points of the year came as I did not heed my own advice of boundary and time management resulting in pain as my body retaliated from working long hours. It compromised my personal goals of running more which I aim to correct in 2023 – watch this space!

The high point has seen the growth of Connect4Work.

In 2022, I engaged with 42 organisations, supported 27 employees remain-in or return-to work, 13 are actively working toward a return to work and 2 employees decided not to return to work.

2023 will see some additions to the team and a broader range of services provided – it is going to be a great year!  My thanks to all the team who have supported me behind the scenes.

A special thanks to you too for reading these blogs – they are written for you, to help you in your job. I hope they have been of benefit. I would love to hear your thoughts, please do let me know.

For now, I am taking some time off to be with family and friends – I hope you can do the same. See you on the other side of the holidays for a new year!

Take care of yourself.
